Tiffany Lester Gillam, MD
Tiffany was raised in Raytown, Missouri, right outside of Kansas City. She graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in psychology and biology. After a two-year hiatus in Philadelphia, she attended University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and is currently completing her Internal Medicine residency in Cincinnati, OH.
After taking a complementary medicine course in medical school, she finally found the area of medicine that resonated with what type of physician she ought to become. During her residency, it became increasingly obvious that the “standard of care” was inadequately treating chronic, preventable diseases, especially in the underserved community. As much of traditional training is focused on treating the disease instead of the whole person, Tiffany is looking forward to the Bravewell Fellowship to learn a more holistic approach to healing. One of her many goals is to use the fellowship as a foundation to teach other medical students and residents an integrative approach to medicine in hopes of building healthier community where individuals become empowered to heal themselves.
When not on call at the hospital, Tiffany can be found reading the latest novel, watching reality television or medical drama, or cooking up a scrumptious vegan meal for friends and family.
