Emily Hartzog, MD
Emily Hartzog is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She worked with the Navajo and Ute Native Americans in the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico from 1990-1995. During that time, she ran a project with the University of Arizona to study the effects of increasing breastfeeding rates among the Navajo. She was then in private practice in Cortez, Colorado from 1995-2007 where she worked with a varied population that was primarily Medicaid-based. During those years, she began a clinic targeting the healthcare needs of the Purepechan population in Michoacan, Mexico. Following that she moved briefly to Charleston, SC where she took a faculty position with the Medical University of South Carolina running three clinics that served the Spanish-speaking population there. She is now at the Center for Health and Healing, an Integrated Medicine facility, which is affiliated with Beth Israel Hospital in New York City.
